Headquarters Marine Corps, PP&O performs a dual mission:
It supports the Deputy Commandant (DC) as the Operations Deputy (OpsDep) for the Commandant of the Marine Corps (CMC) on all Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) matters. It serves as the primary interface between the Marine Corps and the joint and combined activities of the JCS and the unified combatant commanders, and various allied and other foreign Defense agencies.
It is responsible for coordinating the development and execution of service strategy, plans, posture, and policies related to the structure, deployment, and employment of Marine Corps forces.
